• Prononcez les numéros EN FRANÇAIS
• TAUX d’ÉCHANGE (Exchange rate) : 1 € ≈ 1,27 $, 1 $ ≈ 0,78 €
• Important notes on numbers in French:

• space or a dot in French = thousands, millions, etc. (we use a comma in English)

• 2 500 euros = two thousand five-hundred euros (deux mille cinq cents euros)
• 2.500 euros = two thousand five-hundred euros (deux mille cinq cents euros)

• comma in French = decimals(we use a dot in English)

• 2,50 euros = two euros fifty (deux euros cinquante)

• How to say:

16,75 euros = seize euros soixante-quinze (similar to English : a dollar fifty)
678 euros = six cent soixante-dix-huit euros

• Culture: p. 79 : We talked about the fact that many students and families with modest finances get subsidies (allocations familiales) from the state for housing. Housing can be extremely hard to find and very expensive in big French cities like Paris, Marseille, etc.
