Communication Guidelines

All communication for this course will take place within the online course. There are several ways to communicate with your instructor and other students.

  1. Course Email is available in the Communication section of the course menu; course email is a private one-on-one way for you to communicate with a course facilitator. Use course email to address specific questions or comments to a course facilitator or selected members of the class. Use this resource only for private communication.
  2. Discussion Forums are where you post your responses to discussion questions and read the responses of others. Your contribution to discussions is an important part of the course, and part of the learning activities you’ll be evaluated on. Forums are located within the learning modules, and can also be accessed in the Communication section of the course menu. Use this space for any question or comment that is of interest for the whole class.
  3. Office Hours Each online course is different. If you would like to request a meeting with your instructor, review the course syllabus and/or Getting Started Module for their hours of availability. We will confirm at least 24 hours in advance a date and time to meet with you.

Submitting Assignments

All activities, homework and quizzes will take place within the online course. There are several tools to complete assignments for grades in the online learning environment. All tools are available in the Assessments section of the course menu.

  1. Dropbox tool is available in the Assessments section of the course menu; it enables you to submit assignments in the online learning environment. When you are assigned a Dropbox assignment, you can simply upload your submission to the appropriate dropbox folder and submit.
  2. Quizzes tool is available in the Assessments section of the course menu; it enables you to take a quiz, review your quiz results and see class stats for a quiz. Read the instructions and details for the quiz, and when you’re ready, click Start Quiz. We recommend you click the corresponding Save button after answering a question. You can also click Save All Responses if you are not finished answering all questions on a single page, or if you are working on a time-consuming question and need to save all previous responses.

Accessing Grades

The Grades tool is available in the Assessments section of the course menu; use it to check your grades on assignments and tests. You can see your individual grades and comments, as well as class averages and feedback. You can also view your final grade and the grade formula used to evaluate you once your instructor releases your grades.
