There are two schools of thought about creativity; you are either born with it or it is a learned skill. My thoughts are that anyone can be creative, and there is no one set way to measure it. When you look around creativity is all around us! For some people it comes through in the way that they dress. For others it comes through in artistic creations or performance art. It could be in the creation of a garden or in building a new house, the way you exercise or play a sport, or even something that you have created by utilizing your computer skills.
Essentially, it all filters down to the areas in which we feel most comfortable going beyond the obvious answers. If we know very little about a subject or process it is likely that we will give up on a solution pretty quickly. Additionally, the way that we feel most comfortable thinking is actually controlled by the side of the brain we most often rely on to think through problems.
Our brains are divided into two sides—the left and the right. We all use both sides every day, but each of us has a side of our brain that is dominant. If the left side of your brain is dominant, it is likely that you enjoy subjects like math and science because you think logically, analytically, and with a great focus on detail. If your point of view is dominanted by the right brain it is likely that you tend to enjoy subjects like writing and the arts. Right brained thinkers tend to think intuitively, thoughtfully and subjectively.

The real key to success is not in being like everyone else but in thinking differently from everyone else. It’s a simple concept, but one that many people struggle with. And it’s not just about thinking differently from everyone else; it’s about thinking differently than most of the people who are already doing what you’re trying to do. Unlike other students, you need to read reviews before hiring any writer.
