When you are hired for a job, you will be required to produce certain documents that prove that you are of age, and legal to work in the United States.  It is a good idea to make sure that all of your documents are in order before applying for a job.

You will be required to bring:

• Parental Consent Form if Applicable.  Here is a link for your convenience:  http://www.tn.gov/labor-wfd/forms/pconsent.pdf  Please note this form needs to be notarized.  Almost every bank and even your school will have a notary public who can notarize this document for you.
•  Proof of age; birth certificate, driver license, state issued ID, or your passport
• Your social security number
• Documents that prove you are legal to work in the United States.  See the graphic below to make sure that you have the right documents in order.  Please note that if you choose a document that establishes identity from List B you must also bring one from list C.  For example you could use your school id andyour birth certificate.
