Spring 2020 brought with it challenges for the United States. As the country began to shut down and respond to the crisis, it was important for higher education to adjust and provide a safe and effective environment to continue providing instruction to students.
When University of Memphis students left for the spring break holiday in March, it was supposed to be for a week, like any other year. When spring break was extended for one more week, everything changed. The new normal for students upon their return would be a virtual one for some time to come. When restrictions loosened this fall to allow on campus activity, safety measures were put in place to protect faculty, staff and students.
Some nursing students provided their reflections on what it was like to be a student during this time.
