Activités en classe —

p. 228-229. On va parler de souvenirs. Deux définitions

•objets touristiques
•mémoire

• p. 230-1, Quand j’étais petit(e). Écoutez le monologue et lisez (read along)

• p. 249. Qu’est-ce que c’est que l’imparfait ?

• Imparfait — Descriptions, Habitudes («used to»), Conditions/Émotions dans le passé
• Passé composé — Action qui avance l’histoire, changement
• For now, we’re focusing on imparfait

• p. 249, Conjugaison de l’imparfait

• formation: take nous form of the present, drop the -ons, add the imperfect endings
• Prononciation:

-ais -ions
-ais -iez
-ait -aient

• la botte : -ais, -ais, -ait, -aient

— in the boot, all pronounced the same.
— outside the boot, don’t forget the -i-: ions, iez

• une exception: être (ét-). Same endings, but different stem (j’étais, tu étais, etc.)

• Attention: verbes manger (je mangeais in the boot to keep the g soft vs. nous mangions no extra e needed) et commencer (je commençais in the boot to keep the c soft vs. nous commencions no cédille needed)
