Architecture professor receives grant to conduct research on the Île de la Cité in Paris

Dr. Marika Snider in the UofM’s Department of Architecture recently received a grant from the university’s Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Support Program.

It supplements the funding she was awarded earlier this year in Washington DC as part of the prestigious Richard Morris Hunt Prize.

Over a five-week period, Marika will conduct research on the Île de la Cité in Paris with a special focus on the ongoing work at Notre Dame Cathedral and the contested histories.

Snider says the award is much appreciated, and will cover the gap between what her other grant covers and what is actually needed.
