The University of Memphis College of Communication and Fine Arts is excited to host the inaugural Central to the Arts Festival on Saturday, April 1, starting at 10 AM and concluding with an Expose Performance at 4:30 PM in the Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center.
This FREE festival invites the community to campus to experience Memphis’ talented artists, designers, musicians, dancers, actors and creators in the making.
Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music will have multiple ensembles and student musicians performing throughout the festival.
Zone 4 (Music Building):
- Noon – University Singers
Zone 8 (Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center Parking Lot):
- 11 AM – Blue Tom Entertainment artist, Zeke Wright
- Noon – Blue Tom Entertainment artist, Alexis Jade
- 1 PM – Music Entertainment from University of Memphis – Lambuth
- 2 PM – Sound Fuzion
Zone 9 (Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center – Plough Foundation Performance Hall):
- 4:30-6 PM – College of Communication and Fine Arts Expose Performance
Zone 10 (Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center – Traicoff Music Hall):
- 11:40 AM – 901 Jazz
- 12:40 PM – Memphis Combos
- 1:40 PM – Jazz Singers
With 13 different art zones, Central Avenue will roar with creativity, featuring live performances, film screenings, fashion shows and interactive art booths.
