Moral development is important because it’s how people think, understand, and do good throughout their life. Morality devlops as the individual matures with time. Piaget studied the cognitive thought or “intent”. There were two types of though heteronomous or autonomous. Heteronomous is the authority outside of themselves or external locus. People are usually young, egocentric, and want to conform to society. If the person gets punished he labels the action bad. Autonomous is the self-governing intent or internal locus. These people understand more and know that rules can be changed.

I am maturating my moral devlopment as i grow. I can understand and distinguish what is wrong from bad. I am more of an autonomous person where I understand and govern my intents without people telling me.

Since I plan to become a teacher I have to understand that children will develop their moral development as they grow. So some children might not morally reason right. However, I have to set rules so kids understand what is right and wrong within the classroom.
