Sonia Raheel’s work with a Memphis-based architecture and planning firm has landed her in the pages of The Commercial Appeal.

Raheel, a graduate of the University of Memphis’ Department of Architecture, is an intern at Braganza Design Group and designed the interior of Inspire Community Café at 510 Tillman St. in the city’s Binghampton neighborhood.

A Jan. 3 story in The Commercial Appeal (“Inspire Community Café in Binghampton: Healthy food plus a side of community support“) mentioned Raheel’s contributions to the cafe.

“The space is small, but comfy. Designed by Sonia Raheel, a recent graduate of the University of Memphis architecture program and an architectural intern at the Braganza Design Group, (cafe owner Kristin) Fox-Trautman said the goal was to create a space that was ‘vibrant, relaxing and comfortable.'”

Michael Hagge, chair of the U of M’s architecture department, says the partnership between the university’s architecture students and Inspire Community Cafe goes back several years and will continue in upcoming design classes.
