Theatre & Dance presents “The Wolves”

University of Memphis Department of Theatre & Dance is proud to announce the next show of our 2021-2022 season: The Wolves, a play by Sarah DeLappe. The show will feature a cast of actors who are safely distanced and wearing masks.

Soccer imitates life? While waging war on the field, a group of suburban teens navigates the treacherous waters of high school, academics, families, expectations, and social life. Sarah DeLappe reveals a glimpse into the hearts and minds of young athletes trying to understand their place in the world while playing their roles as scholars, friends, sisters, daughters, and teammates.

The Wolves is being directed by Assistant Professor/Artistic Director Holly L. Derr, with movement coaching from Michael Medcalf and full design collaboration from Scenic Designer Brian Ruggaber, Costume Designer Heather Duzan, Lighting Designer Matthew Russell and Sound Designer Andrew Boone. Like the cast, the design team and all the students working on the show have been socially distant and wearing masks, keeping everyone safe while creating theatre during the pandemic.

Audience members are strongly encouraged to wear masks while in the theatre building and will be seated using social distancing.
