The Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music Piano area has been very busy lately.
Our University of Memphis MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) chapter and faculty member, Dr. Artina McCain presented at the Music Teachers National Association 2021 Virtual Conference. The collegiate MTNA chapter presented on Latin American Composers. Dr. McCain was a conference headliner with the McCain Duo and invited to speak to young professionals about Recording and Concertizing.
David Cordoba, student of Jonathan Tsay, soloed Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Bob Moody, conductor.
Dr. McCain soloed Florence Price Piano Concerto with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, a top-tier national orchestra, and Katharina Wincor, conductor.
