MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Memphis celebrated the fifth anniversary of THANK•FUL, an event put on by Chartwells Higher Education that brings students, faculty and staff together through food, community and gratitude. The event aligned with more than 320 campuses nationwide and continued its tradition of offering a warm, meaningful pause before the Thanksgiving break.
This year’s THANK•FUL celebration featured a full Thanksgiving-inspired menu and a variety of hands-on activities designed to help students reflect and connect. Students crafted notes of appreciation at the “Thank a Friend” Station, wrote uplifting messages at the Compliment Café which remained displayed on the walls of the Tiger Den throughout the week, and added what they were most grateful for to a community display. First Year EATS, UofM Dining’s program designed to help first-year students connect and explore dining resources, participated by hosting a prize wheel for students who signed up on the spot. Grind City, the campus coffee shop, rounded out the week by offering gratitude-themed coffee sleeves.
As part of its continued commitment to supporting the campus community, University of Memphis Dining is donating 60 meal vouchers, the contents of the THANK•FUL Food Drive, and provided students the opportunity to donate their remaining meal swipes to Tiger Pantry to aid food-insecure students on campus.
“THANK•FUL is one of our favorite times of the year,” said Megan Talbot, Marketing Manager. “It’s about more than just sharing a meal—it’s about gratitude, kindness, and recognizing the people who make our campus feel like home.”
