Events Leading Up to Game Include Glenn Rogers, Sr. Street Renaming Ceremony 

Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 — University of Memphis Homecoming activities are bringing together students, parents, alumni and friends to celebrate that trademark Tiger spirit through athletic events, activities and entertainment.

Everyone is welcome to join in this weekend’s Homecoming activities beginning Friday, Oct. 25.

Glenn Rogers, Sr. Street Naming – 11 a.m. at S. Hollywood Street, between Southern Avenue and Union Avenue
Join us for the official street renaming in honor of Glenn Rogers Sr., the first Black football player at the University of Memphis.

Black Alumni Homecoming Yardshow and Yard Party – Noon on Luther C. McClellan Alumni Mall
Enjoy an old school yardshow mixed with a new school yard party. Come for the stepping and BBQ and stay for a special tribute honoring Divine Nine Charter members.

Tiger Roundup: Food Trucks and More – 2-4 p.m. on Luther C. McClellan Alumni Mall
The fun kicks off early with the annual Tiger Roundup. This includes gatherings for Frosh Camp, SGA and Carson Circle plus food trucks, bouncy houses and more.

Homecoming Parade – 4 p.m. start at Zach Curlin and Walker Avenue
Come see the dazzling procession of floats, marching bands, UofM students and other participants donning their Tiger stripes. Grab a spot on the parade route and enjoy the spectacle. (Note that certain streets on the parade route will be blocked for the duration of the parade. Traffic flow on multiple streets surrounding the campus on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 25, will be altered to accommodate the Homecoming Parade.)

Pep Rally – Post-parade on Luther C. McClellan Alumni Mall Lawn
Featuring performances by the Mighty Sound of the South, the Spirit Squad and appearances from the UofM Homecoming Court.

Tiger Tailgate – Saturday, Oct. 26, on Tiger Lane
Ahead of the Homecoming Game, tailgate with the members of the Divine Nine and Black Alumni Chapter on Tiger Lane.

Homecoming Game – Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m. at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium
Memphis Tigers v. Charlotte 49ers is the game, but don’t miss performances by the Pom Squad Alumni (between the 3rd and 4th quarters) and the Mighty Sound of the South 2024 Alumni Band Performance.
