AmeriCorps & Porter Leath Partnership create Exciting Opportunity for Early Childhood Students

Beginning as early as 2015, 17 ICL students will work with AmeriCorps Early Childhood Home Program via Porter Leath Head Start Children.  All students who fulfill the criteria will receive a bi-monthy stipend of $550 and a scholarship for 2 years of $5,550 at the end of their first year and second year.

Students met Friday,  May 1 with Mr. Darrell Davis, Program Supervisor, to begin the process.

This outstanding opportunity has several future career options for our students!  Recently, two ICL students who have participated in Americorps for at least two years, have already received offers of full time positions with a nice beginning salary!

We currently have three students on our waiting list; we hope to add more to this Program in the future!
