Hey guys!

Have you completed your SETEs? You may ask, what is a SETE? A SETE is a Student Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness. You fill out one SETE per course, and you can complete them anywhere as long as you have access to the internet. These reports are anonymous to the faculty members, your professors will only see the overall class rating.

When are SETEs available? The remaining ones include:

  • Second Session- Opened November 16, will close December 2, 2015 at 6:00 A.M.
  • Full Session- 12:00 A.M. on November 19, 2015 through 6:00 A.M. on December 10, 2015.

So how do you access SETEs? 

  1. Go to myMemphis (formerly Spectrum), the University of Memphis portal, located at http://my.memphis.edu.
  2. Login using your UUID and Password.
  3. Click on the gray tab entitled “Student.”
  4. Find the box (also known as a channel) called “SETE.”
  5. Click on the “Complete a SETE Evaluation” link found in this channel. (A list of courses will load shortly.)
  6. Click on the link in the yellow box for the course you want to evaluate.
  7. Fill out the form and click the submit button.***
  8. Print the confirmation page and keep for your records.
  9. If you have any trouble, please contact the IT Help Desk at 678-8888.

Why should you complete your SETEs? You should complete them for a few reasons.

  • Do you want to see your unofficial grades? Well this is how you can. If you do not complete these evaluations, you will have to wait until your official grades come out.
  • To better and improve education here at the University of Memphis. Have ideas on how to improve something? Your professor will get your suggestions when you complete the evaluation for the course.

Be sure you are ready to submit your SETE! Once you submit it, you cannot change or alter it. Make sure you complete the entire evaluation for a course in one sitting. You do not have to complete all of your courses at once, just make sure not to stop in the middle of a course evaluation. You will have to start over!
