Registration is going strong for the 9th annual Delta symposium scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and hosted by Willy Bearden! Conferees will be eligible to win door prizes during the buffet lunch, including books by Julia Reed and a stay at the Peabody Hotel, and all will receive discounts to area museums and cultural institutions. Afternoon presentations feature Tyler Fritts on Delta Blues; Tiffany Momon on African American Genealogy; Ed Frank on Photographs of the Delta from the Libraries’ Special Collections; Will Staley on Business in the Delta; Dr. Jeannie Whayne on the Lee Wilson Plantation; and Sterling Withers on Catfish Farming.
