West Tennessee Archaeology Project (WTAP)

Introduction

The West Tennessee Archaeological Project (WTAP) was started about 10 years ago and focuses on the archaeology of western Tennessee, west of the Tennessee River.  Field, lab and archival research on several sites from the region is ongoing.  There is alos the opportunity to participate as a student or a volunteer.  Our permanent fieldwork location is on Ames Plantation, just east of Memphis.  Every May at Ames we hold a three week field school with academic credit.

See the Current Reearch Page for links to publications and theses.

Also WTAP is active on Facebook and can be accessed here.
